- Remove bar fixed between spring struts, then the air canister over throttle body.
- Remove master cylinder as outlined in "Hydraulic Brake Systems."
- Remove brake servo vacuum hose.
- Disconnect electrical distribution box and move aside.
- Remove four brake servo retaining nuts from bracket.
- Remove rubber gaiter from bulkhead partition and pull it toward servo container.
- Disconnect pushrod clip, then the brake servo container.

- Raise rear seat, then pry adjusting device apart.
- Insert a .08 inch feeler gauge between parking brake lever and stop on brake caliper.
- Screw locknut against adjusting sleeve until feeler gauge drops out.
- Apply and release parking brake lever a few times to settle adjusting device.
- Ensure clearance between lever and stop is .02-.08 inch.

When working on any hydraulic brake components it is extremely important to keep the work area clean. Clean any components that are to be reused with new brake fluid or a cleaning fluid specifically designed for hydraulic components. Wipe all components dry using clean lint-free paper or cloth. Because the brakes are self-adjusting, it is impossible to tell from the brake pedal stroke whether the linings are worn. The lining thickness should be inspected at specified intervals as outlined in "Vehicle Maintenance Schedule" section.
