The front single piston, floating caliper disc brake consists of rotor, caliper, pads and driving hub, Fig. . The caliper is mounted to steering knuckle using bushings, sleeves and two thru bolts which thread directly into steering knuckle.

This assembly has an anti-rattle clip attached to outer pad and an inner pad-piston retainer clip.

All of braking force is taken directly by adapter. The caliper is a one piece casting with inboard side containing a single piston cylinder bore.

Use bleeder tank tool No. C-3496-B, or equivalent, and adapter tool No. BB400-9A, or equivalent, to pressurize hydraulic system.

Normal pressure bleeder pressure should not be more than 35 psi. On models equipped with plastic reservoirs, do not exceed 25 psi bleeding pressure.

  • Attach suitable clear plastic hose to bleeder screw and submerge other end into clear container with clean brake fluid.
  • Open bleeder screw at least one full turn.
  • Bleed 4-8 ounces of fluid through system until air free flow is maintained.
  • Repeat procedure at all screws.
