- Rotate compressor pulley by hand and inspect for excess bearing play and drag. Replace pulley as required.
- Apply 8 volts to the field coil and inspect that the armature is drawn by the rotor pulley.
- Measure clearance between pulley and armature. If the clearance is not .013-.026 inch for Honda models or .016-.031 for other models, the armature should be removed and correct number of shims should be installed.
