  • Rotate compressor pulley by hand and inspect for excess bearing play and drag. Replace pulley as required.
  • Apply 8 volts to the field coil and inspect that the armature is drawn by the rotor pulley.
  • Measure clearance between pulley and armature. If the clearance is not .013-.026 inch for Honda models or .016-.031 for other models, the armature should be removed and correct number of shims should be installed.

Remove defective components. Add the proper amount of oil to each replacement component. Most recovery/recycling equipment will measure the amount of oil being removed. This is the amount of oil to be added back to the system, follow manufactures instructions provided with the recovery/recycling station.
