- Secure armature in place with holding tool No. J377872, or equivalent.
- Remove armature plate bolt and washer, Fig. .
- Do not reuse armature plate bolt.
- Install removal tool No. 09991-06030, or equivalent, Fig. , remove armature plate.
- Remove pressure plate and shims from shaft, then using suitable snap ring pliers, remove circlip.
- Remove magnet clutch lead wire clamp screw and wire.

Remove defective components. Add the proper amount of oil to each replacement component. Most recovery/recycling equipment will measure the amount of oil being removed. This is the amount of oil to be added back to the system, follow manufactures instructions provided with the recovery/recycling station.
