- Remove instrument panel as outlined in "Heater Core, Replace."
- On models equipped with air conditioning, remove evaporator as outlined in "Evaporator Core, Replace."
- On models less air conditioning, remove mounting screws, nut and bolts, then the heater duct.
- On all models, disconnect blower motor, blower resistor and recirculation control motor connectors. Remove wire harness clip.
- Remove mounting nuts, bolt and blower unit.
- Reverse procedure to install. Torque mounting screws, bolts and nuts to 86 inch lbs.

- Open clamp and disconnect heater valve cable from arm, Fig. .
- Disconnect clamp and cable from air mix control linkage, Fig. .
- Set temperature control dial on MAX COOL with ignition switch in On position.
- Attach cable to air mix control linkage.
- Hold cable housing against stop and cap housing into cable clamp.
- Turn heater valve arm to fully closed position and hold.
- Take up cable housing by pulling cable housing, then install into clamp.
