- Disconnect fan motor electrical connectors and remove wiring harness from fan shroud.
- On models equipped with automatic transaxle, remove oil cooler line from shroud.
- On all models, remove shroud retaining bolts and the shroud from fan motor.
- Remove fan mounting clip, then detach fan from fan motor.
- Remove fan motor retaining screws and the fan motor.
- Reverse procedure to install.

- Recover refrigerant as outlined in .
- Remove instrument panel as outlined in "Instrument Panel, Replace."
- Disconnect heater hoses from heater core.
- Disconnect refrigerant lines from evaporator core.
- Disconnect electrical connectors and wire harness retaining clips from HVAC housing, (heater unit).
- Remove HVAC housing to cowl mounting bolts, then the HVAC housing.
- Remove heater core from heater HVAC housing, Fig. .
- Reverse procedure to install.
