The condenser fan is turned on when the main relay supplies voltage to the coil of the cooling fan relay and the relay is grounded by the Engine Control Module (ECM). The ECM provides the ground circuit to the cooling fan relay based on certain preset conditions.
The ATC Electronic Control Unit (ECU) will request condenser fan operation anytime the vehicle speed is less than 50 mph or outside temperature is more than 82°F (28°C). The fan will switch off if vehicle speed increases to 62 mph or outside temperature decreases to 77°F (25°C)...
