  • Remove fan electrical harness from shroud tabs and wiring harness from clamp on shroud.
  • On models equipped with automatic transaxle, remove upper transaxle cooler lines from radiator and end tank. Cap line.
  • On all models, remove clamp and upper radiator hose.
  • Remove mounting bolts and fan shroud.

The engine cooling fan system consists of two electrical cooling fans a pusher and a puller. The cooling fans are controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and cooling fan control module. The relays in the cooling fan control module are arranged in a series/parallel configuration that allows the PCM to operate both fans together at low, medium or high speeds.

The cooling fan speed is based on coolant temperature or air conditioning system high side pressure.
