- Drain brake fluid into suitable container.
- Remove air cleaner assembly.
- On models equipped with manual transaxle, remove clutch reservoir tube.
- On all models, disconnect level warning light switch connector.
- Disconnect brake lines from master cylinder using tool No. 09023-00100 or equivalent.
- Remove two nuts from brake master cylinder, then the master cylinder.
- Reverse procedure to install, tighten to specifications.

- Raise and support vehicle to remove rear wheel.
- Drain brake fluid into suitable container.
- Release parking brake lever and remove brake drum.
- Remove hole plug and install suitable screwdriver into hole on backing plate to hold rear brake automatic adjust lever away from adjuster, Fig. .
- Compress brake shoe adjuster using suitable screwdriver by turning adjusting wheel.
- Remove rear brake drum from vehicle.
