- Turn ignition to Lock and remove key, then disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove Air Bag and "IG" fuses from junction/fuse box, Figs. through , located under lefthand side of instrument panel.
- Remove lefthand upper steering column cap, then unlock and disconnect driver's air bag module yellow connector.
- Open glove compartment door, then push stoppers on lefthand and righthand sides and remove glove compartment.
- Disconnect passenger's air bag yellow connector.

- Disconnect condenser outlet pipe using, A/C hose disconnect tool No. 09991-15410, or equivalent.
- Disconnect suction hose using, A/C hose disconnect tool No. 09991-15420, or equivalent. Cap all fittings to prevent system contamination.
- Remove packing glue around expansion valve using suitable thin blade screwdriver.
