The Engine Oil Life monitor indicates when an oil and filter change are needed, usually from 3000-10,000 miles since the last change. The CHANGE OIL SOON indicator may light even before 3000 miles if the vehicle has been operated under severe service.

The monitor will not detect dust in the oil. If operating in dusty conditions be sure to change the oil and filter every 3000 miles or sooner if the CHANGE OIL SOON lamp lights.

To reset the Engine Oil Life monitor proceed as follows:

  • Turn ignition on, but do not start engine.
