Master cylinder pushrod-to-piston clearance must be inspected and adjusted before installing master cylinder.
- Adjust bolt so top of it is flush with end of master cylinder piston using pushrod adjustment gauge tool No. 07JAG-SD40100, or equivalent, Fig. .
- Install master cylinder rod seal between pushrod bolt adjustment gauge and brake booster.
- Without disturbing position of adjusting bolts, install gauge upside down on booster and torque nuts to 11 ft. lbs.

- Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assemblies.
- Remove brake hose clamp bolts from steering knuckle, Fig. .
- Remove mounting bolt and swing caliper aside.
- Remove shims, retainers and brake pads.
Installation
- Install pad retainers and apply Molykote M77 compound, or equivalent, to both sides of pad shim.
- Install brake pads and shims.
- Push piston in until caliper fits over pads. Keep piston boot in position to prevent damage when swinging caliper down.

- Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assemblies.
- Remove banjo bolt and disconnect brake hose.
- Remove mounting bolts and caliper.
- Reverse procedure to install.

- Remove pad spring.
- Place suitable wooden block or shop rag in caliper opposite piston, then carefully remove piston from caliper by applying air pressure through brake line hole with OSHA-approved 30 psi nozzle.
