DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2005 Mini Cooper AUTOMOBILES
Includes CV axle, universal joint, and driveline replacement, for domestic and imported 2005 Mini Cooper cars and light trucks from 1990+.
CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace -> Left -> Right

- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove wheel and tire assembly.
- With an assistant applying brakes, remove and discard axle shaft collar nut.
- Drain oil from transaxle.
- Remove caliper bolts.
- Remove caliper and hang aside, ensuring that brake hose is not under tension.
- Remove steering tie rod end from knuckle using separator tool No. 323090 or equivalent. Discard locknut.
- Remove ABS sensor from knuckle.
- Remove outer lower control arm nut.
- Remove lower control arm from knuckle using separator tool No. 321190 or equivalent. Discard nut.
