Vehicle: 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton W12 6.0 W12 GAS
During assembly work, make sure that no indentations form on boot of air spring shock absorber!
- Unscrew hex for drive axle. (Only loosen when vehicle is resting on the wheels there is danger of an accident.)
- Loosen drive axle at transmission flange.
- Remove front wheel.
- Remove noise insulation.
- Remove ABS speed sensor.
- Remove cover plate.
- Remove both upper control arms from wheel bearing housing.
- Remove drive axle heat shield.
- On left drive axle, turn steering gear toward left.
- On right drive axle, turn steering gear toward right.
