STARTER & ALTERNATOR REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2006 BMW 750LI AUTOMOBILES

Alternator, Replace
Vehicle: 2006 BMW 750LI 4.8 V8 GAS
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove bolts securing radiator cover.
- Disconnect cooling fan sensor connector.
- Disconnect oil cooler hoses. Drain fluid into suitable container and replace new O-rings upon installation.
- Lift fan cowl up and push retaining tabs in to remove fan cowl.
- Remove oil cooler mounting bolts from fan cowl and set aside.
- Raise vehicle on suitable lift.
- Remove retainers from lower engine splash shield.
- Open cap on coolant reservoir. Drain coolant into suitable container and never drain coolant when engine is hot to avoid scalding of skin.

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Raise vehicle on suitable lift.
- Remove bolts securing engine under body cover then remove cover.
- Remove bolts from reinforcement plate then remove plate.
- Disconnect oxygen sensor connector.
- Remove control sensor using suitable tool.
- Disconnect monitor connector.
- Remove control sensor using suitable tool.
- Support exhaust system using suitable tool.
- Remove nuts and gasket from front exhaust pipe to engine manifold.
- Remove vacuum hose from vacuum unit and remove nut from exhaust bracket.
