- Inspect backing plate mounting bolts and ensure they are tight.
- Inspect wheel cylinders. Excessive fluid indicates cup leakage and need for wheel cylinder replacement. Slight amount of fluid is always present and is considered normal, acting as lubricant for cylinder pistons.
- Inspect adjuster screw operation. If satisfactory, lightly lubricate adjusting screw and washer with suitable brake lube. If operation is unsatisfactory, replace.

- Remove drive axle center cap, if equipped.
- Insert a drift or large screwdriver through brake caliper into one of the brake rotor vanes in order to prevent drive axle wheel drive shaft from turning.
- Remove nut and washer from hub. Do not reuse nut. A new nut must be used when installing wheel drive shaft.
- Using J 45859 or equivalent, press wheel drive shaft from hub.

When the vehicle is stationary, the sensor is inactive. When the vehicle is operated and as the vehicle speed increases, centrifugal force activates the sensors internal accelerometer causing the sensors to go into rolling mode. In the rolling mode, the sensors read tire pressure once every 30 second and transmit the reading once every 60 seconds.
