Manual Bleed
- Remove reservoir filler caps and fill reservoir with proper brake fluid.
- If calipers or wheel cylinders were overhauled, open all caliper and wheel cylinder bleed screws.
- Close each bleed screw as fluid starts to drip from them.
- Fill master cylinder reservoir once more before proceeding.
- Attach one end of bleed hose to bleed screw and insert opposite end in glass container partially filled with brake fluid, Fig. . Ensure bleed hose is immersed in fluid.
- Open up bleeder, then have an assistant press down brake pedal.
- Once brake pedal is down, close bleeder....

The following procedure is described for a propeller shaft equipped with only a cardan joint in the tube yoke. If the propeller shaft is equipped with a companion yoke, simply repeat the following steps to remove the cardan joint from the companion yoke after removing the cardan joint from the tube yoke. Individual components of cardan universal joints are not serviceable. If worn or leaking, they must be replaced as an assembly.

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- On models equipped with 4WD and a support bracket on transmission, remove support bracket bolts at transmission.
- Pry support bracket slightly to gain access to lower starter mounting bolt.
- On all models, remove starter mounting bolts and nuts.
- Move starter motor towards front of vehicle far enough for nose of starter pinion housing to clear housing. Do not let starter motor hang from wire harness.
