Front
It is possible to fit the driveshaft incorrectly. Note the orientation before removal.
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove exhaust system.
- Remove six Torx bolts and washers at transfer case drive flange, discard bolts. Mark position of driveshaft flange in relation to drive pinion flange.
- Release driveshaft from transfer case drive flange. To avoid damage to joint or gaiter, do not allow driveshaft to hang.

DRIVESHAFT, Replace -> Front -> Rear
Vehicle: 2007 Land Rover LR3 HSE 4.4 V8 GAS
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Drain differential lubricant.
- Remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove and discard halfshaft retaining nut.
- If removing righthand halfshaft, disconnect righthand stabilizer bar link by removing and discarding nut. Use a wrench on hexagon provided to prevent ball joint from rotating.
- If removing lefthand halfshaft, disconnect lefthand stabilizer bar link by removing and discarding nut. Use a wrench on hexagon provided to prevent ball joint from rotating.

CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 2007 Land Rover LR3 SE 4.0 V6 GAS
Always remove the propeller shafts and viscous coupling as an assembly. Dismantling the individual units on the vehicle may cause damage to the components.
Never unbolt the viscous coupling support bearings from the body without first detaching the propeller shafts at the differential and IRD. The weight of the center section will pull the CV joint apart, causing irreparable damage.
Never allow the CV joint to be manipulated to an acute angle. This will cause the internal roller bearings to break up, leading to excessive backlash and CV joint failure.
