System Operation
Along with the anti-lock braking, this system also controls the Dynamic Rear Proportioning (DRP) function and Traction Control System (TCS) operation. On Cadillac DTS models the ABS system also controls the Engine Drag Control (EDC) function and the Vehicle Stability Enhancement System (VSES).

- Raise and support vehicle.
- Mark wheel to axle flange relationship for installation alignment, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove brake hose from caliper. Plug openings in caliper and brake hose.
- Lift able spring to free end of from lever, then disconnect parking brake cable from lever.
- Remove cable support bracket mounting bolt and washer.
- Remove sleeve bolt and caliper.
- Reverse procedure to install, then bleed brakes.

Replacement
- Remove approximately 2/3 of brake fluid from master cylinder.
- Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Push piston back into caliper bore using suitable C-clamp, Fig. .
- Remove inlet fitting mounting bolt, copper washer and inlet fitting from caliper housing. Plug opening in inlet fitting. Do not crimp brake hose.
- Remove caliper mounting bolts and caliper, Fig. . If there are signs of corrosion, replace bolts when installing caliper assembly.
- Reverse procedure to install.
Disassemble
- Clean outside of caliper, then drain brake fluid from caliper...
