  • Remove PCM mounting fasteners, then position PCM aside.
  • On models with ABS, remove master cylinder as follows:
    • With engine not running, pump brake pedal 4-5 strokes until pedal feel is firm.
    • Disconnect wiring harness electrical connector from brake fluid level switch.
    • Disconnect primary and secondary brake tubes at master cylinder outlet ports. Plug open brake tube outlets.
    • On models equipped with manual transaxle, remove clamp and slide clutch actuator hose off reservoir port.
    • On all models, clean area around where master...

Pressure Bleed

Use bleeder tank tool No. C-3496-B, or equivalent, and adapter tool No. 6921, or equivalent, to pressurize hydraulic system.

Normal pressure bleeder pressure should not be more than 35 psi. On models equipped with plastic reservoirs, do not exceed 25 psi bleeding pressure.

  • Attach suitable clear plastic hose to bleeder screw and submerge other end into clear container with clean brake fluid.
  • Open bleeder screw at least one full turn.
  • Bleed 4-8 ounces of fluid through system until air free flow is maintained.
  • Repeat procedure at all bleeder screws.
