The TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) warns the driver when a significant loss, or gain of tire pressure occurs in any of the four tires and allows the driver to display the individual tire pressures and the locations on the DIC (Driver Information Center) display. The system consists of the BCM (Body Control Module), DIC, instrument cluster, RF (Radio Frequency transmitting tire pressure sensor in each wheel and serial data circuit. Each tire pressure sensor has an internal power supply with a service life of 10 years.

- Apply the Parking brake, then place the ignition switch in the On position.
- Cycle the headlamp switch from Off to Parking Lamp position 4 times within 4 seconds.
- The horn should chirp twice and the low tire pressure warning indicator should begin to flash indicating the system is in the learn mode.
- If GM tool No. J-46079 or equivalent is available, starting with the left front tire, hold the antenna of the tool No. J-46079 near the valve stem on the wheel, then press the activate button and wait for the horn to chirp.
