When a tire pressure sensor is replaced, the sensor ID must be memorized by the TPMS control unit.
To ensure the control unit memorizes the correct ID, the vehicle with the new sensor must be at least 10 ft. from any other TPMS pressure sensor not installed on that vehicle.
When replacing the TPMS control unit, use a suitably programmed scan tool to memorize IDs.

Removal
- Loosen the lug nuts.
- Raise and support vehicle with jack stands, then remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove the valve cap and core.
- Deflate the tire completely.
- Remove any balance weights.
- Prior to dismounting the tire from the wheel, note the following precautions:
- Do outside of wheel first.
- Position the bead breaking fixture 90 degrees from the valve stem when separating the tire bead from the wheel, Fig. .
