This procedure describes a driveline equipped with cardan joint in tube yoke. Driveline equipped wit companion/slip yoke repeat steps to remove remaining cardan joint.
- Place driveshaft on suitable workbench. Do not damage driveshaft when servicing on workbench. Ensure driveline and components are reference marked to prevent driveline imbalance.
- Tap outside of bearing cap with a drift to loosen snap ring.
- Remove snap rings from both sides of yoke using suitable tool.
- Position yoke with grease fitting pointing up, if equipped.

- Raise and support vehicle and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Mark relationship of components before removal.
- Remove bolts from steering gear crossmember
- Reference mark relationship of driveline to from axle pinion yoke.
- Remove yoke retainer bolts and yoke retainers from front axle pinion yoke.
- Disconnect driveline from front axle pinion yoke.

- Raise and support vehicle and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Remove wheel nuts and front wheels.
- Remove bolts securing engine shield.
- Remove wheel speed sensor wiring harness from its retainer.
- Disconnect wheel speed sensor from harness.
- Remove retaining bolt for front brake hose.
- Remove front stabilizer bar link from lower control arm.
- Remove upper shock module retaining from shock tower.
- Remove steering knuckle bolts from upper control arm.
