- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove exhaust support bracket.
- Detach rear muffler and tailpipe exhaust hanger insulator.
- Detach intermediate muffler exhaust hanger insulators. Using a suitable transmission jack, support intermediate muffler.
- Remove retaining bolts, then remove the driveshaft heat shield.
- Mark position of driveshaft in relation to transmission flange.
- Mark position of each nut and bolt in relation to transmission universal joint.
