Use only tool no. 204-354 anytime tire pressures are measured to be sure that accurate values are obtained. Place air chuck straight on the valve stem to inflate tire. Do not cock air chuck during inflation cycle. Doing so can damage valve stem and cause air leaks. Ford recommends using a round head air chuck on tire pressure sensors; it is not recommended to use air chucks with long shanks. Doing so can cause tire pressure sensor valve stem damage and loss of tire pressure.

- Unhook battery cover from battery box.
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove bolts securing charge air cooler cover then remove cover.
- Remove air cleaner hose intake clamps, disconnect MAP sensor connector, and remove bolts securing housing assembly.
- Remove bolts from body side heat insulator and upper exhaust manifold insulator.
- Raise vehicle on lift.
- Rotate or lift belt tensioner arm clockwise, using a suitable tool to relieve tension from drive belt.
- Remove drive belt.
- Remove nut securing alternator then remove bracket.
- Remove nuts securing alternator duct then remove duct.
