Vehicle: 2008 Scion XD 1.8 L4 GAS
- Disconnect battery cables.
- Raise vehicle on suitable lift.
- Remove bolts securing engine under cover subassembly.
- Loosen alternator upper bracket bolt and lower mounting bolt.
- Push in an alternator assembly and remove drive belt.
- Remove bolts and righthand engine mounting stay.
- Place wooden block under engine and use suitable tool to lift engine.
- Remove bolts and nut then remove righthand mounting insulator subassembly. Do not remove through bolt securing insulator.
- Remove bolts securing transverse engine mounting bracket.
- Open B+ terminal cap and remove alternator B+ terminal nut.
