CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 2008 Volkswagen R32 3.2 V6 GAS
Vehicle must not rest on wheels when doing so. With bolt loosened, wheel bearing can be damaged by vehicles own weight. If a vehicle needs to be moved when drive axle is removed, an outer joint must be installed and tightened to 11 ft. lbs.
- Loosen drive axle bolt to wheel hub.
- Remove lower noise insulation.
- Remove drive axle from flange shaft/transmission.
- Remove wheel.
- Slide outer joint out of wheel hub by hand.
- Remove ball joint to control arm mounting nuts.

DRIVESHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 2008 Volkswagen R32 3.2 V6 GAS
Perform work on driveshaft on a two-column lift if possible. Before removing, mark positions of all parts in relation to each other. Reinstall in same position otherwise imbalance will be excessive, bearings could be damaged causing rumbling noises. Do not allow driveshaft to hang down when removing, always support. Always remove or install driveshaft horizontally on drive flange. Do not kink driveshaft, only store and move when fully extended.
