Vehicle: 2009 BMW M3 4.0 V8 GAS
- Connect suitable scan tool and retrieve any stored fault messages.
- Turn ignition switch to off position.
- Disconnect and isolate battery ground terminal.
- Remove suction filter housing.
- Remove fan clutch.
- Remove alternator drive belt.
- Drain supply tank for power steering pump into a suitable container, if required. Remove with holder and place to one side.
- Remove air hose, if required.
- Unlock and detach plug connection.
- Remove nut and disconnect battery positive lead.

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove grille from air inlet on heater.
- Remove bolts in air manifold box cover.
- Remove mounting bolts of air manifold box.
- Remove air manifold box.
- Loosen bolts and then remove reinforcing pipe.
- Remove cover from fuel lines.
