- Raise vehicle off ground and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Remove bolts securing driveline shaft protector.
- Remove bolts securing shaft protector.
- Make a reference mark across driveline and transmission flange.
- Separate driveline from transmission assembly.
- Make a reference mark across driveline and rear differential flange.
- Separate driveline from rear differential then remove driveline shaft.
- Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
- Torque rear driveline mounting bolts to 33 ft. lbs.
- Torque driveline shaft protector bolts to 16 ft. lbs.

- Loosen the lug nuts.
- Raise and support vehicle with jack stands, then remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove the valve cap and core.
- Deflate the tire completely.
- Remove any balance weights.
- Prior to dismounting the tire from the wheel, note the following precautions:
- Do outside of wheel first.
- Position the bead breaking fixture 90 degrees from the valve stem when separating the tire bead from the wheel, Fig. .
