- Disconnect cable from battery ground terminal.
- Remove righthand rear engine under cover.
- Remove fan and alternator V-belt.
- Disconnect alternator connector.
- Detach rubber cap, and then remove nut and battery cable.

- Disconnect battery ground cable from battery.
- Disconnect mass air flow meter connector.
- Loosen hose clamp, unlock air cleaner assembly clamp and remove air cleaner cap sub-assembly.
- Remove air cleaner filter element sub-assembly from air cleaner case sub-assembly.
- Separate wire harness clamp from air cleaner case sub-assembly.
- Remove three bolts and remove air cleaner case sub-assembly.
