DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2010 Volvo XC60 AUTOMOBILES
Includes CV axle, universal joint, and driveline replacement, for domestic and imported 2010 Volvo XC60 cars and light trucks from 1990+.
DRIVESHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 2010 Volvo XC60 T6 3.0 L6 GAS
- Raise and support vehicle on lift.
- Remove front member from body, exhaust pipe and Three-Way Catalytic Converter.
- Remove brake pipe from mountings in member. If the same driveshaft is to be reinstalled. Mark the driveshaft CV joint in relation to the bevel gear flange.
- Support front section of exhaust pipe so as not to put strain on exhaust manifold.
- Remove rear exhaust system assembly.
- Remove bolts from joint using suitable tool to hold driveline while removing bolts.
- Leave one bolt in place by a few threads for safety.
- On models with vibration dampner, hold driveline with suitab...

CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace -> Left Side -> Rear -> Right Side

Left Side
- Raise and support vehicle on lift.
- On models with AWD, remove drain plug and drain transmission fluid.
- On all models, remove front wheel lug nuts.
- Remove bolt for wheel hub driveshaft.
- Counterhold using a suitable tool in brake disc vents.
- Tap end of drive shaft approximately 20-25mm into wheel hub.
- Remove nut for ball joint and control arm. If ball joint pinion moves, counterhold end of lug using suitable tool.
- Disconnect ball joint pinion from control arm using suitable tool.
- Install cap nut using suitable tool on ball joint pinion.
