This fan is driven by an electric motor which is attached to the radiator support. The cooling fan is controlled by the PCM, based on inputs from the coolant temperature sensor, A/C fan control switch and vehicle speed. The PCM controls the fan through a ground circuit, which energizes the fan control relay, supplying voltage to the fan motor.

The PCM grounds the circuit when coolant temperature is over 223°F or when A/C is On.

  • Remove propeller shaft. When removing propeller shaft, do not attempt to remove shaft by pounding on yoke ears or using a tool between yoke and universal joint. If propeller shaft is removed by using such means, injection joints may fracture and lead to premature failure of joint.
