- Pull parking brake lever with a force of 44 lbs. and ensure lever travels 10-11 notches on models less 4WD or 12-13 notches on models w/4WD.
- On 4WD models, rotate adjuster, Fig. , until proper stroke is obtained, then tighten locknut.
- On models less 4WD, remove parking brake cover and adjuster cap, then adjust control lever by turning adjusting nut until proper stroke is obtained.
MAXIMA
- Pull parking brake lever with a force of 44 lbs. and ensure lever travels 9-11.

- Remove wheel bearing lock nut. Tie rod does not need to be disconnected from steering knuckle. Suspend steering knuckle with wire so as not to stretch brake hose. Do not pull or twist brake hose.
- Remove clip and separate brake hose from strut.
- Remove strut lower mounting bolts.
- Separate drive shaft from steering knuckle by lightly tapping it. If it is hard to remove, use a puller. When removing drive shaft, cover boots with shop towel to prevent damage to them.
