Fuel System Pressure Relief
- Obtain the vehicle owners radio theft protection code prior to disconnecting the battery ground cable, if equipped.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable.
- Remove the fuel fill cap to release fuel tank pressure.
- Place a shop towel over the union bolt at top of fuel filter. Slowly loosen the union bolt allowing the fuel pressure to bleed down.
- When ever the union bolt is loosened to relieve fuel system pressure, always replace the bolt gasket.

- Remove front fender apron seal.
- Remove cotter pin and lock nut cap.
- Loosen bearing lock nut while depressing brake pedal.
- Drain out gear oil fluid.
- Remove cotter pin and nut from tie rod end.
- Using a suitable puller or SST 09923-00020 disconnect tie rod end from steering knuckle.
- Remove nut and disconnect stabilizer bar link from lower arm.
- Remove bolt and two nuts.
- Disconnect steering knuckle from lower ball joint.
- Place match marks on drive shaft and side gear shaft or center drive shaft. Do not use a punch to mark matchmarks. Use paint, etc.
