Remove and install parts in order as shown in Fig. . Place a piece of wood into caliper, then slowly blow compressed air through brake line hole and remove piston.

- Raise and support front of vehicle.
- Remove tire and wheel assembly.
- On four piston caliper, remove pad pins, springs and pads.
- On all models, remove lockpin bolt.
- Disconnect and cap brake line.

- Stop engine and depress brake pedal a few times to relieve vacuum.
- With pedal depressed, start engine. After starting engine, pedal should move down slightly. If so, unit is functioning.
- After engine has run two minutes, turn it off. Depress pedal with normal force.
- If the first pedal stroke is long and gets shorter with subsequent strokes, the unit is operating. If a problem is found, inspect check valve, vacuum hose and installation. Repair if necessary and check again.
- Start engine and depress pedal with usual force.
