- On Taurus SHO models, disconnect battery ground cable, then remove ECU and mounting bracket from hydraulic control unit (HCU).
- On all models except Taurus SHO, disconnect battery cables and remove battery and tray.
- Remove plastic pushpins holding acid shield to HCU mounting bracket, then remove acid shield,Fig. .

- Disconnect 55-pin plug from electronic control unit, then attach Anti-Lock Breakout Box/Bleeding Adapter tool No. T90P-50-ALA or equivalent to wiring harness 55-pin plug.
- Place bleed/harness switch in bleed position.
- Turn ignition to On position, the red Off light should turn on.
