- Drain cooling system, then remove cowl panel grille screen and electric wire duct.
- Loosen mounting bolts, then remove air collection box. Air collection box may be difficult to remove.
- Remove water flange and blow air into feed hose to prevent residual coolant in heater core from leaking on interior carpeting.
- Remove lower instrument panel securing nuts.
- Pry out lower trim panel, then remove heater core double pipe.
- Remove securing screw, then remove heater core.

- Use a suitable spanner wrench to hold clutch hub and remove retaining nut.
- Remove clutch plate using a suitable puller, then press out ball bearing.
- Reverse procedure to install. Measure endplay between clutch plate and pulley. Endplay should be .016-.040 inch. Add or remove shims as necessary to bring within specifications.
