- Retain pressure plate using tool No. 07923-PB8000, then remove center bolt, Fig. .
- Install clutch remover tool onto pressure plate, then remove pressure plate by screwing in center bolt, Fig. .
- Clean mating surfaces of pulley and pressure plate in a suitable solvent.
- Remove pulley snap ring, then the pulley using a suitable puller.
- Remove shims from compressor shaft, then the second snap ring.

Disc Brakes -> FRONT DISC BRAKE PADS REPLACEMENT -> 318 & 325 -> EXCEPT 318 & 325

- Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheels.
- Remove brake pad wear indicator connector from left side of caliper.
- Remove anti-rattle clip, then the caliper sliding bolt plastic caps.
- Lift brake hose out of holder, then remove caliper sliding bolts.
- Remove caliper toward rear. Remove brake pads, then suspend caliper from frame with wire.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Compress caliper piston into bore.

- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove complete exhaust system.
- Remove heat shield.
- Unscrew holders for exhaust suspension.
- Remove clamp.
- On models with joint disk, unscrew joint disk on transmission.
- On models with universal joint, unscrew universal joint on transmission.
- Release threaded bushing with special tool 26 1 040 or equivalent by a few turns. Caution: When removing propeller shaft, mark universal joint to drive flange of rear axle. This will eliminate complaints of droning.

On these models the SII reset tool cannot be used. Resetting is possible using the instrument cluster trip odometer reset button. Proceed as follows:
- Turn ignition Off.
- Press and hold trip odometer reset button, then turn ignition to "1" (Accessory).
- Keep odometer reset button depressed for approximately five more seconds until any of following words appear in display: "Oil Service" or "Inspection" with "Reset" or "Re."
