- With vehicle in neutral, position vehicle on hoist.
- Mark propeller shaft pinion flange and propeller shaft flange with installation reference marks.
- If equipped with manual transmission, mark manual transmission flange and propeller shaft flange for installation reference.
- If equipped with a center bearing, mark an outline of center bearing on center bearing bracket for installation reference. Then support propeller shaft and remove mounting bolts.
- On all models, remove pinion flange bolts from propeller shaft.

This procedure describes a propeller shaft equipped with a cardan joint in the tube yoke. For propeller shafts equipped with a companion/slip yoke, repeat the steps to remove the remaining cardan joint.

- Tap outside of bearing cap with a drift to loosen snap ring.
- Remove snap rings from both sides of yoke.
- Position yoke with grease fitting if equipped, pointing up.
