REPLACE
- Remove master cylinder as described in "Hydraulic Brake".
- Remove clutch pipe holder, if equipped, then disconnect vacuum hose from power brake unit.
- Disconnect pushrod fork from brake pedal and remove power brake unit from vehicle.
- Reverse procedure to install. On all models except Navajo, booster bolts are torqued to 14-17 ft.lbs. On Navajo models, booster bolts ore torqued to 13-25 ft.lbs.

- Remove instrument cluster.
- Connect 12 volts to terminal 2K and ground to terminal 1K, Fig. .
- Ensure ABS warning light glows.
- If light does not glow, check meter fuse, bulb and wiring harness.
- If light glows, check wiring harness to control unit or hydraulic unit. Repair or replace as necessary.

- Raise and support vehicle and remove rear wheel assembly.
- Remove caliper attaching bolts, then the caliper, leaving brake hose attached, and position caliper out of way.
- Remove disc plate attaching screws and the disc plate, Fig. . If disc plate is difficult to remove, remove dust cap, insert screwdriver into hole and turn adjuster to increase shoe clearance.
- Remove upper and lower return springs, then the front and rear hold pins.

The ABS self-diagnosis function used on these vehicle can only be accessed with ABS tester No. 0000420010. Follow instruction manual included with tester. Refer to Figs. through , for wiring diagrams. Refer to "Component Testing" for individual component testing.
