- Remove front wheel and reinstall lug nuts to locate disc temporarily.
- Check that brake pad thickness is at least .039 inch (1mm). Replace pads if too thin.
- Remove caliper from torque plate and suspend so brake hose is not under tension. Do not disconnect brake hose.
- Refer to Figs. through , and remove the following components:
- Brake pads.
- Anti-squeal shims.
- Pad wear indicator plates.
- Support plates.
- Anti-squeal springs.
- Install new pad support plates.

This anti-lock brake system is equipped with a self diagnosis system capable of reading and storing specific fault codes, which may indicate component failure or system malfunction.
DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM INSPECTION
- Ensure battery voltage is about 12 volts.
- Turn ignition switch on.
- Ensure that "ANTI-LOCK" warning light turns On for three seconds. If not, inspect then repair or replace fuse, bulb or wire harness.
