- Disconnect battery ground cable, then drain cooling system.
- Remove radiator shroud attaching bolts and cooling fan assembly attaching bolts, then radiator shroud and cooling fan as an assembly.
- Loosen water pump drive belt tensioner, then remove water pump pulley and drive belt.
- Remove timing belt. Refer to MOTOR's Imported Car Repair Manual for detailed instructions.
- Remove water pump attaching bolts and the water pump, Fig. .
- Reverse procedure to install. Torque water pump attaching bolts to 7.5 ft. lbs.

- Start engine and allow to run at approximately 2000 RPM, then activate air conditioner.

- Turn ignition to Lock and remove key, then disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove Air Bag and "IG" fuses from junction/fuse box, Figs. through , located under lefthand side of instrument panel.
- Remove lefthand upper steering column cap, then unlock and disconnect driver's air bag module yellow connector.
- Open glove compartment door, then push stoppers on lefthand and righthand sides and remove glove compartment.
- Disconnect passenger's air bag yellow connector.
