- Install a manifold pressure gauge set. Inspect system pressure.
- If a pressure of approximately 71 psi is indicated on the suction gauge side and a pressure of approximately 128 psi is indicated on the discharge gauge side, the compressor has abnormal compression. Replacement of the compressor is necessary.

- Continuity should exist when temperature is at 230°F or less (point A).

- Using a spanner wrench, insert pins into any two threaded holes of the clutch front plate. Hold plate and remove hex nut.
- Using a suitable puller, align puller center bolt to compressor shaft, then hand-tighten puller bolts into threaded holes.
- Turn center bolt clockwise until front plate is loosened.
- Using a suitable screwdriver and hammer, remove shaft key by lightly tapping it loose.
