- Disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.
- Remove engine cooling fan and shroud.
- Release belt tensioner and remove accessory drive belt.
- Remove water pump pulley mounting bolts, then remove water pump pulley.
- Loosen mounting bolts and remove water pump.
- Reverse procedure to install. Replace O-ring and torque to 15-22 ft. lbs.

- Remove clutch hub retaining nut using Spanner Wrench tool No. T81P-19623-MH, or equivalent. On 10P15A compressors, use Strap Wrench D85L-6000-A, or equivalent. It is necessary to connect field coil to a 12V source to energize the coil engaging the clutch.
- On Capri and Festiva, remove pressure plate using Pressure Plate Remover tool No. T88C-19623-A, or equivalent, Fig. .

- Remove the floor air distribution duct assembly.
- Remove the push nut retaining vacuum motor arm to floor defrost door crank arm.
- Remove two nuts retaining the vacuum motor to motor bracket.
- Disengage motor from mounting bracket and motor arm from door crank arm.
- Remove motor from plenum and disconnect the vacuum hoses from motor.
- Reverse procedure to install.
