Conventional Brake System
- Fill master cylinder reservoir with DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid. After bleeding each wheel check master cylinder level and fill as required.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Position drain pan under wheel being bled.
- Have an assistant depress brake pedal with slow, even pressure, and hold it down. Do not depress brake pedal to end of master cylinder stroke. This may damage master cylinder.
- Using suitable wrench, open bleed valve one full turn. Watch for air bubbles in fluid, and listen for air escaping from system.

- Raise and support front of vehicle and remove wheels.
- Remove banjo bolt and disconnect brake line from caliper. Secure hose in raised position to prevent leakage.
- Remove caliper pin bolt, then caliper, Figs. through .
- On Legend, TL and Vigor models, remove pad spring from caliper.
- On all models, position a block of wood or shop rag in caliper opposite piston, then carefully remove piston by applying compressed air into fluid inlet port. Use only as much air pressure as is needed to remove piston.
