- Recover refrigerant from A/C system.
- Disconnect evaporator receiver and suction lines. Plug or cap lines immediately to avoid moisture and dust contamination of system.

- Remove glove compartment screws and connector.
- Remove front console screws, then the front console.
- Remove righthand side knee bolster.

- Remove master cylinder as outlined under "Master Cylinder, Replace."
- Position pushrod adjustment gauge tool No. 07JAG-SD40100, or equivalent onto master cylinder. Using gauge tool adjusting nut, push in center shaft of tool until top of it contacts end of secondary piston, Fig. .
- Without disturbing center shaft's position, install pushrod adjustment gauge tool upside down on booster, Fig. .
- Hold tool in place using master cylinder nuts, torque master cylinder nuts to 11 ft. lbs.

- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove front wheels.
- Drain differential oil.
- Raise locking tab on spindle nut and loosen it.
- Remove damper fork nut, pinch bolt and fork.
- Loosen, but do not remove, lower arm ball joint nut.
- Support lower arm, then separate lower ball joint from lower arm.
