- Drain cooling system, then remove torquatrol/fan unit.
- Loosen jockey pulley carrier securing block (1), trunnion locknut (2), adjusting link bolt securing nut (3) and adjusting link nut (4). Fig. .
- Remove belt, then remove adjuster trunnion bolt (1) and idler pulley screws. Fig. .
- Remove two studs, then the power steering belt, air pump belt and compressor belt.
- Loosen power steering pump pivot bolts enough to pull adjustment bolt from special stud (4) Fig. . Remove stud (5).

Left Thermostat
- With engine cold, remove cooling pressure caps from engine and coolant reservoir tank.
- Loosen system bleed tap from lefthand side of radiator top rail.
- Disconnect lower radiator hose and partially drain coolant.
- Disconnect top radiator hose from thermostat housing.
- Remove three thermostat housing bolts. Loosen air cleaner mounting bracket upper nut and remove bracket from thermostat housing.
- Remove thermostat and gasket.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

COMPRESSOR CLUTCH INSPECTION
- Rotate compressor pulley by hand and check for excess bearing play and drag. Replace pulley as required.
- Apply 8 volts to the field coil and check that the armature is drawn by the rotor pulley.
- Measure clearance between pulley and armature. If the clearance is not between .013-.026 inch for Honda models or .016-.031 for other models, the armature should be removed and correct number of shims should be installed.
