  • Disassemble magnetic clutch in numbered sequence shown in Fig. , noting the following:
    • Remove crankshaft nut by installing two six millimeter bolts by one inch long into holes of armature plate. Hold bolts using two box-end wrenches to prevent crankshaft from turning, then remove crankshaft nut and armature plate.
    • Using a screwdriver or snap-ring pliers, remove seal plate from front housing.
    • Using a brass bar, remove bearing from front housing.

The electric cooling fan, controlled by a thermo sensor and relay. The thermo sensor is located in the radiator lower tank. When coolant temperatures reaches approximately 185°F, the thermo sensor contacts close, providing a ground circuit to the fan relay, which provides voltage to the fan motor.
