- Raise and support vehicle with jack stands.
- Fill reservoir with brake fluid, ensure reservoir is at least half full at all times during bleeding procedure.
- After removing bleeder cap, connect one end of transparent vinyl tube to bleeder and place other end in a clean, clear container that is half full with brake fluid.
- One person should depress pedal a few times, then hold the pedal depressed.
- A second person should loosen the bleeder screw and drain fluid, then retighten screw to specifications.

The ABS self-diagnosis function used on these vehicle can only be accessed with ABS tester tool No. 0000420010, or equivalent. Follow instruction manual included with tester. When tests reveal that specific components are at fault, refer to "Component Testing" for individual component tests.

- Ensure parking brake is completely released.
- Block front wheels, then raise and support rear of vehicle.
- Adjust parking brake lever screw or nut until wheels are locked when the brake lever is pulled 5-7 notches.
Millenia
- Adjust parking brake shoe clearance as follows:
- Working through rotor access hole, turn adjuster 3 to 5 notches in direction opposite arrow on rotor to set shoe clearance to approximately .013 inch.
- Rotate rotor by hand to ensure parking brake shoes do not drag, then install access hole plug.

- Remove clutch pipe holder, if equipped, then disconnect vacuum hose from power brake unit.
