- Remove air cleaner hose and air distribution duct from engine, then drain cooling system.
- Disconnect heater hoses at dash panel, then plug heater core tubes.
- Using quick connector tool No. 7193, or equivalent, remove both A/C lines from expansion valve. Cap expansion valve and A/C hose openings.
- Remove heater/A/C control panel trim bezel, then the cluster hood bezel screws.
- Pry cluster hood bezel upward until storage bin and cigar lighter bezel...

Testing the refrigerant system for leaks is one of the most important phases of troubleshooting. Before beginning any leak test, attach a manifold gauge set and note pressure. If little or no pressure is indicated, a partial charge must be installed. Check all connections, compressor head gasket, oil filler plug and compressor shaft seal for leaks.
